One of the most popular browsers ever, Mozilla Firefox is available across all digital platforms, including, of course, iOS. If you download Firefox, you see that it’s as powerful and productive as its desktop version, displaying pages correctly, delivering media streams and providing privacy.

Features Review

What Does the Firefox Say?

The primary feature of any web browser is opening web pages, and Firefox does it perfectly. It opens web pages just the way it does on PC, with all interactive elements, pop-up menus, embedded audio and video, and even ads. The pop-up windows can be blocked, though, to deliver better browsing experience.

For better viewing and energy saving Firefox offers night mode, with dark background. It looks especially great on iPhone X/XS, with OLED displays. On the other hand, if your connection is slow, you can turn off loading images (like in the early 2000s, yes), to accelerate loading the text.

Private Browsing leaves no trace in your browsing or searching history (though you still can add bookmarks). Privacy is also protected by TouchID or FaceID Firefox incorporates easily, so you need just to press your finger or show your face to confirm logging in.

The thing that’s done easily is Siri integration in Settings. Though there is only one command by default, to open a new tab, there’ll certainly be more, plus you can use Shortcuts.

On old devices Firefox subjectively seems to outperform Safari or Chrome; on newer ones difference isn’t that dramatic.

Do You Need It?

By 2019 all the major browsers have reached some common level with default set of features and security. Most of this Firefox review could have been applied to Chrome, Edge, or Safari. It is a very decent mobile browser; some believe it to be the best.

But, as for us, the main reason should be your default desktop browser, because of settings syncing. If you prefer Firefox on your computer, you’ll benefit much more if you download Firefox on your iPhone or iPad. Otherwise, it’s just a good browser but with no killing advantage.

Pros

➠ Full featured browser;

➠ Cloud sync with other platforms;

➠ Incognito mode and high privacy;

➠ Good performance, especially on old devices;

➠ Siri integration.

Cons

➠ No objectively killing features;

➠ Some report increasing battery usage.
